I'm in the midst of planning my first trip to Belize and I wanted to know what it's like in August versus September. I love it HOT, but I hear it rains much more in September...is this true? If it's a quick 20 minute shower that's fine, but if it's an all day thing...I have to reconsider my travel dates. Any tips would be appreciated. Still undecided on where I am going to stay so feel free to make recommendations. Thanks...

We've been twice in August and the weather was great. Last August we experienced a tropical storm but that could happen in September as well. It passed after a day. Can't give you any info regarding weather in Sept. Its my understanding though that hurricane season starts the end of August. I'm sure the locals have more info than me on that subject.

I visited Belize last August and it was hot and it rained a bit most mornings. It didn't spoil my trip one bit

We were in San Pedro last September. The weather was hot, but not very rainy. Maybe some brief showers, not a problem. We just happened upon Belize Independence Day while we were there. There was a block party, a parade, lots of entertainment. I'd love to return at that time again one of these years. The only downside we found about September travel was that a couple of restaurants were closed. Still plenty to choose from though.
