I have never been to Belize before and am thinking of going in either the 2nd or 3rd week of December. I will probably be travelling alone. Does anyone have any advice about where to stay and what to do? Will anyone be travelling at that time?

everyone has their own special preferences, i prefer to stay in town. if you are looking for a more quiet solitude, then check the resorts out of town. (town is very small by the way).

I'm leaving the first part of Dec for San Pedro (one week) then who knows?....going to be in Belize for a month. Plan is (San Pedro 1wk) Placencia, StanCreek (3wks).........but I'm from Wa Sate who know's what will happen?......bring $$ right?

LD, if u r gonna be in bz that long, make sure you get out to the cayo district too. i really like it out there, around san ignacio.

Sweet Jane, Thanks for the info, I've read several great books on the area and hope to enjoy every moment there...are you asking about hard drives? if so, the answer is yep.

Recommend you check out Caribbean Villas and Xanadu on Ambergris Caye via this web site - both are scenic, comfortable, small, safe, beachfront and a nice beach walk to town. Both are operated by their owners.

LD, we stayed at duPlooys in cayo in june and liked it a lot. my second time in the jungle, and there is nothing like it. i enjoy doing the mainland first, and then relaxing on the beach after.
