Hi-
was wondering why the late afternoon flights on Maya Air take 35 minutes as opposed to their earlier flights and Tropic Air flights which are both 15 minutes? Do they make a stop between BZE and San Pedro?

Also, has BZE been renamed Goldson International? Tropic Air lists Goldson but not BZE while Maya continues to list BZE. It would be a real bummer to book a flight out of the wrong airport.

Finally, if we arrive at BZE at 2:40 on a Friday afternoon in Aug, is the 3:20 flight realistic?

Thanks for all your help,
Jen

The flight from belize international to San pedro is 15-20 minutes direct on either airline however in the late afternoons when they get busy with International arrivals there is a good chance you will drop people off at cayeCaulker on the way to Ambergris and thats why they probably allowed that extra time.

Tropic does the same thing its just depends on the luck of the draw you could go direct or not you will not know until you are on the flight itself.

BZE is the abbreviated sign for Philip Goldston International Airport so they are reffering to the same airport. there is only one International airport in Belize

With a 2.40 arrival you could very well make the 3.20 but it would be a push depends on how long it takes you to collect luggage if you one of the first you will easily make it, if you get caught in the line probably not.

If they are busy they have several planes and are not normally on time anyway so you may catch the 3.20 at 3.40 BELIZE TIME :-)

Have a great trip

If you are flying from San Pedro to Belize City, take the flight to the municipal airport, it is cheaper. However if you are flying from San Pedro to catch an international flight, you must go to the international airport.

You don't HAVE to fly to international. You can always take a taxi between the airports. (I did that a couple of days ago.) It's US$20 for the cab. Fares to municipal are about half that to international ($26 versus close to $50US) so with even two people you save money.
