We want to bring home one of those DOUBLE hammocks from San Pedro. Does anyone know if we can check it for our flight or what they require to take it with us?

I just had a friend leave here with a single hammock with the wooden bars at the ends. He checked the hammock (rolled up in a garbage bag attached/duct tapped to a metal sculpture he wrapped in newspaper and a plastic bag) and had no problems. My only advice is to keep the receipt within reach in case customs wants the proof of cost.

Have a question on customs....how many bottles of liquor per person can you bring in? Also, arriving Saturday and looks like rain creeping into the forecast. Hoping Belize like Cayman and when it says thunderstorms they are sporadic...is this true or should be expect monsoons for week of 6-14 of may? Thanks for any info...our first trip.

San Pedro does not have a monsoon type rainy season.

Donna M, we were told at the airport duty free store in Houston that we could bring into Bze 2 litres per person, but once we arrived at customs in Bze, we were told only one bottle each and had to pay 200% duty on the extra bottles. They would'nt even let us throw it away or destroy it. They wanted the $$. Just FYI.
