Hello to everyone,
I will be in AC next week and have a few more questions before I get there....what time does it get dark there? And I know this question has been asked alot, but what are the best five Restaurants? And what are the best values?
Thanks for your help!
Merry Christmas to all of you!

You get a little less than 12 hours daylight at this time of year. Yesterday (22nd Dec - shortest day of the year), sunrise was at 6:20 am and the sun set at 5:25 pm. Daylight will increase marginally from this point.

Here are a couple of sites to visit for restaurant reviews:

For value, I liked Jade Gardens, El Patio, and The Reef. Others have mentioned Papi's. I also have to mention Capricorn. It's pricey but worth it. Definitely my pick for best food and ambience on AC.

Hope this helps,

Jim

best VALUE are Antijitos Santelmo and Mr Lee's. And those lobster burritos at Mickeys...

for flavors, see La Margarita, El Patio, Elvis, Jade Garden, Capricorn, Celi's, The Reef, Papi's, Estels is great, but i LOVE them for breakfast, Mangoes, Caliente, i could go on and on....

Estelle's and Paradise for breakfast. Papi's, Jambel Jerk Pit, and BC's for dinner. If you are there on Sunday, DEFINITELY GO TO BC'S BEACH BBQ...Bruce and Charlene do it up right! You won't be sorry! Tell 'em I said HI!

I might get flack for this, but here goes...

The cheapest meal we ate was $6 US and consisted of a huge plate of food (rice, beans, coleslaw, stewed chicken, veggies). Got it from one of the street vendors and it was delicious.

Depending on your opinion, we're either brave or really stupid. Either way, no upset tummies and it was real yummy.

Have a wonderful trip!

You paid too much or I got a bargain. Vendor closest to the basketball court, late, about 8:30.
One a dinner sized styrofoam plate she heaped three BIG scoops of rice/beans and patted it down, added one BIG scoop of potato salad to one side, on the other side two nice pieces of chicken selected out of thin sauce, one ladle of sauce over
everything, capped by two sweet rolls. This was 5 to 6" high and she sealed it up with aluminum foil. $5.00BZ ($2.50 US)
Boy, just writing this makes my mouth water. Lasted for two meals in my room.
I'm down in Orange County, at my sisters, cooking Butternut Squash Soup for dinner tonight to go with a Pork Loin Roast and an incredible pumpkin pie with glazed walnuts bake by my daughter. We are warming up for Xmas.

The street vendors are great! Papi's diner, Los Coco's and Mickey's burrito's on Wensday are some of our favorites.

There are so many. Great question because I forget where I want to go next so it's nice to see the fresh responses. Estels is so relaxing, Jade is a must, Basils (especially if you're staying in town or south..take a bike ride). Street venders are great (I ate there four nights last time). Good luck. Too much good food, too little time.
