Yes there are lizaeds but they are small and harmless and just run across the road and are gone. We stayed at Ramons and didn't see any at the resort. Only saw them when we were walking about town.

This is a joke, right? Lizards live in the tropics - they're cold-blooded. Ya need to try the Arctic Circle or thereabouts if ya don't want any lizards.

Not to worry. The croc's keep the lizards in check.

Jake - When I was there in November, I saw quite a few Iguanas on the property. I got a great picture of one that was about 4 ft long. Not to worry though...they are just as scared of you. I had to move really quick to take that picture. He was gone before I could get two! Where are you staying?

I guess I've not seen them in town, but on our property I have seen many, many iguanas and "Rich Willys". One crawled in my washing machine drain hose, and came out in a "whoosh" when it drained... then he ran off into the bamboo, standing up on his back legs. I died laughing. I wasn't laughing the next day when I went breezing into the laundry room (where I had left the door open) and there he was standing in the middle of the room, and I was blocking the door. I yelled for Raymond, and he "swept" him out with the broom.

I'm sorry you fearthem... Just keep a watch out for them, and avoid walking near foilage. <g> And have a good time!

Kathy

I agree about the foilage. If your fear is that great, a slight rustle in the bushes might really freak you out. That happened to me several times at night. I wouldn't be to worried about though, really, I'm sure they don't bite unless they feel threatened.
