I understand roads in AC are not paved . . . sand. How good/bad bumpy are they? We'll be staying 3.5 miles South of SP. Will we need duck tape to hold the cases of Belikin in our golf carts?
we spent a lot of time exploring both north and south in a golf cart...and it was absolutely delightful! the best way to see the island and to get around.
most of the roadways are fine...pretty smooth driving really. the worst were going north...up towards captain morgan's and beyond...but even that wasn't so bad...you're going slow enough...and it's all a beautiful adventure...no problem!
just make sure you have a good cart...gas preferred...they go a LONG way on a tank!
Roads are not too bad right now you should be fine. Middle street was closed yesterday from the Casino to the end of the Fire Station in order to start paving with the cobblestones. Unfortunately they didn't repair/re-build the bypass road until after they closed the main road!!! All is well this morning though and they have started the bypass road from the Fire Station to the San Pedro Supermarket.
The day we spent exploring on a golf cart it was one of those days where you explore, stop for a belikin, explore, stop for a rum punch, explore, well you get the point. The worst part was my itty bitty bladder going bump bump bump over the roads. I think my hubby started aiming for the holes just to hear me howl! Had a blast though! Have fun! H.
Don't try drinking and driving ~ you'll end up wearing your one barrel, panty ripper, or flat belikin....you'll end up stuck to the seat! Not to mention the POLEESE will arrest you. Be SURE to take your camera and don't hesitate to ask someone to take YOUR picture. Your golf cart rides will be a high percentage of your AC memories...check out all the different - smiling - faces of the people. Especially the kids. They are AWSOME. Have a blast.
