oh dear... what a sad person I am.

It is 4 months since I came home from my dream vacation to AC. It seems a lifetime ago now.

Occasionally I come on the message board to try to relive it all and watch from afar and try to capture that 'escape from it all' feeling again.

I know that I'm lucky in that I have my health, a roof over my head and have been lucky enough to make it to AC once in my life to experience it and I shouldn't complain but sometimes, like the last 3 days, I fancy a moan ...the demanding, awkward and sometimes ONE'S THAT MAKE YOU FEEL ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE clients, trying to make the mortgage and bills every month, the worry and stress, keeping the house warm, watching all my hard earned money go the taxman etc.

Then I remember the sunshine, belikins, sand and sea and the laid back people of AC and think 'is it worth all the worry when people who have much less than me are so much happier and so laid back?'

I've had my moan, now feel humble maybe I shouldn't post this - I may get a slapping.

Thanks, message board for keeping the dream alive and being my escape route from the office. All you guys out there planning your trip .... go and enjoy laugh

Oh,C you have what so many on this board have - Belize is in your blood. Not everyone gets it but those who do long for a return to their place in the Sun. Some just long, some get angry and some do something about it. Enjoy, Indygal

C, my family and I are in good health, we live well (but not wealthily), I have beautiful grandchildren and friends, and I am RETIRED! Still, not many days go by that I don't visit an Ambergris Caye website. Lots of nights before going to sleep I ask my husband, "Do you think we might wake up in San Pedro?" I have 39 weeks to wait.
It definitely gets in your blood.

Dear C of uk,
We went fishing with Capt.Bicho in April with our 11 year old son as per your advice. Our child caught some virus the night before our fishing adventure and was sick the whole time on the boat. We had talked about fishing since you posted your trip report in January. Now, he wants to go to San Pedro again, just so he can experience the fishing in a healthy condition. However, his Mom and Dad can't afford another trip for at least another year. Oh drat the luck!

Thanks everyone for sharing your thoughts. It's nice to know I'm not alone.

Island Mom - I'm so sorry about your son and his illness. What a disappointment for you all. I hope he has recovered and you can look forward to your next trip. I know how you feel - we went away over Christmas and New Year of the Millennium and the whole family spent the whole time in bed with flu recovering just enough to fly home.

must have been that millennium bug everyone was talking about.

I C from UK. I feel your pain. I check the post every day for new photos or trip reports. I had planned on going back in April, but work sent me to all places but the UK. Don't get me wrong London was great and Edinburgh a lovely city, but I kept thinking...I could be in BELIZE!!!

If you really want to make yourself nuts did you check out the skidiving photos and video. In the earlier post. I thought I was going to cry when I saw that - just incredible.

Check out www.skydivebelize.com for a unique view of SP and a great video clip of the Blue Hole skydive. Enjoy!
