The largest graduating class ever, a total of 76 graduates, their parents, relatives and friends gathered at the Angel Nuez Auditorium at San Pedro High to celebrate the life of the graduates and the institution.

The Honorable Manuel Heredia, Minister of Tourism, Aviation and Culture and his wife, Her lordship Mayor Elsa Paz, were the guests of Honor and Jose "Elito" Arceo, Ambergris Today's Person of the Year 2007 was the invited guest speaker.

After the presentation of diplomas and awards to teachers and other students, the principal Emil Vasquez and administration made special presentations. The prestigious award for Senior of the Year was presented to two graduates this year, Eric Santizo and Pedro Vasquez, while the distinguished Student of the Year Award was presented to third form student Han Jing. Athlete of the year was Yamily Vasquez.

The Salutatorian for the ceremony was Leonarda Cardenez and the top senior Elvin Geovany Melgar was the Valedictorian. In his speech, Melgar boasted being the first Commercial student in eight years to take the Valedictory honor, a position held by Academic students for the past eight years straight. He said his hard work and dedication to his studies were a testament to his high achievement. To other outstanding students took the stage as Pedro Garcia acted as Master of Ceremonies and Lizettte Graniel, Miss Teen Talk Columnist, offered the Vote of Thanks.

In his address to the graduates, Mr. Arceo congratulated them and their parents and all who have participated in their educational process. "This is the lesson of life- giving unselfishly to others," said Elito. He reminded the graduates that just like the community has helped form them, now it is their duty to give back to the society. The best way to do so is by being proactive in helping to preserve and enhance the environment of our Island. He encouraged all to speak out when anything will hurt the lovely environment that our ancestors have created on the Island. It was a very touching address which was well received by everyone.

Other highlights of the evening's ceremony were the candle light ceremony by the incoming seniors, the rose ceremony presented by graduates to their parents and the farewell song presented by the high School band, Rock in Peace.
