What about times today? Sunday? I walked past Central Park about a 1/2 hour ago and it looks like a typical Saturday afternoon. When do the fun and games begin?

The kayakers normally start hitting the beach about 12-1 pm on Sunday. Activities should be underway in the next couple hours at Central Park.

The eco-challenge was created for awareness of the environment and this year they paddle through the mess at the East/West Road Project. It will be interesting to hear what they have to say. I hear Channel 7 is with them.

We heard last night from one of the contestants that this morning's start was pushed back to 9:00 AM instead of 7:00 AM.

Lagoon - Reef Eco Challenge Begins

This morning at around 6:00 a.m, thirty five two-man teams gathered at the old football field in front of the Sunset Restaurant for the commencement of what will be a two day challenge promoting awareness, protection and conservation of mangroves, lagoons, reefs and the diverse species that are found along the shore lines and mangroves of the island.
This year marks the sixth year of the annual Lagoon-Reef Eco Challenge. The concept was originally inspired by Mr. Elito Arceo and it has blossomed into a national event, welcoming participants from country wide.
The race is schedule to culminate at the Central Park tomorrow, where a full day of activities is scheduled. All are invited to come out, bring the family and enjoy a day of fun filled games, food and drinks and support your favourite team.

Congratulations to all the participants and good luck.
