Just returned from San Pedro, and we ate all the lobster we could for lunch and dinner.
Absolutely the best sweet tasting lobster.
Reef Restaurant gives you two lobster tails with rice/beans slaw or good french frys for $17.00 US or $34.00 Bze, great price, located on Middle street.
Moncho's carry out between Front and Middle
street next to Palace Casino the lobster lunch is great $9.oo US. OH the Palace casino is really nice, friendly management and nice machines, slots and draw poker, and tables for blackjact. I as a woman played every night, and felt comfortable without my husband staying with me, and they called a taxi for me to return to Sunbreeze. The machine pay off too. Fido's is (FEEDOO)and is the centrally located and the hub of activity, everyone passes thru, the bands are great, especially Barefoot Skinny. Fido's Lobster is prepared the best, but alittle more pricey by a couple of dollars, but worth it for the taste and entertainment.
Food is great at all places, Eliv's Mickey's
Island Cusine, Conch fritters are a must.
The Bakery on Middle street for Cocanut Tarts. The Rum is great, and of course Belikens and Lighthouse beers are the drinks of choice. Fido's you will drawn into everynight, for a few hours. Nice bar and they had the recent Fight on TV for free.
We found everything we wanted and more. Belize it.

So glad you had a wonderful time. We did as well. Understand you're from Texas.....So am I. When do you plan on going to San Pedro again? My husband and I celebrate our 10th anniversary this fall, and would like to go again. This time, alone. We brought the kids with us (12 and 15) and they had the time of their life. Many unique and wonderful memory makers for them. We missed out on the lobster. Bummer. Glad you were able to enjoy it. Did you go to the jungle areas in the Cayo district? Talk about beautiful!!!!

Debbie, our mainland tour got cancelled, but that was okay, because husband got to go reef fishing that day, and caught fish, on Father's day, so it was a perfect day for him. I enjoying touring all the shops and brought a lobster lunch to our room for his return, from Moncho's next to the Casino.
We did meet the nicest young man from Cayo District on our flight back to Houston. He told us so much about his home there, and we invited him to come an visit us on his way home, since is driving within two blocks of our home. Nicest person we have every met on an airplane.

Chloe,
I read your post about making friends and enjoying the local people. I responded. Did't know if you caught it. I just LOVE the people there. My husband made a friend with one of our guides. He's coming to San Antonio next month, and we invited him to come see us. My husband is going to go get him. We can't wait to see him again. He was the best story teller. He accompanied us to Guatamala on our Mayan tour and had the kids mesmerized with Mayan history, tales and trivia. We all argued over who got to talk to him next!!! Husband also made friends with his fishing guide. His name was Gil. We have been writing him, and have sent him some unusual fishing lures. My son got slightly sea sick toward the end of the day, and he kept him laughing with jokes so he didn't feel so bad. Such a nice person. I loved the girl that ran our hotel, Marki, and we've been emailing for two months now. Isn't it great?????? That's why we want to return so quickly. My husband's job is with conservation, and now it's his dream to go there and help the people preserve the treasures they have. The people are very conservation minded and I truly admire them for this. Sometimes I almost feel it's to late to help the US, but for Belize there's still a chance!!! Hope to converse with you further. I have really been enjoying your posts!!
