Ok after the big parties at BC's ...the question remains WHERE can we get some good coffee in the morning. The last time we were there my husband would go out and bring it back to the room and I have to say it was not great. I was suprised, figuring there must be some good central american coffee somewhere on the island. Doesn't have to be fancy <latte's> just good and strong! Any suggestions? Thanks!

Here's the deal.
Buy a Hot Pot at Walmart, then buy Folger's single packs of Latte and regular, stuff them into the hot pot, not to take up too much space in your luggage. (remember you have space, since you do not have to pack a hair dryer and curling iron for Belize.) Wake up plug in the pot and rip open the Latte bag. Take your coffee mugs, wrap them in a tee shirt to prevent breaking. Beats stumbling down the beach to find coffee, remember it gets daylight in Belize really really early, and your Child will be up, so take the single packs of oatmeal, for the Child. If you need that coffee strong use two bags per mug. LOL God I really sound like the Gramma I am.

Hi Chloe, you are so good to help, thanks. I already emailed the hotel and they said they do have coffee pots in the room so we may just go that route. The last time we were there my husband would run out and get us the delicious johnny cakes but the coffee was not great. I was just wondering if there was any place that had some good, strong central american coffee to go. I remember traveling in Brazil years ago and going insane for the coffee. Like you said though I have the coffee pot in the room as an option. Thanks Chloe! Oh I understand that maternal thing well. Been packing crackers and snack bars along with the crayon for years. Cafe Olé for one.

Ruby's uses, or at least used to use, Guatemalan coffee, which is excellent.

Yes Cafe Ole, has great coffee, so did Estel's. You can buy bags of Costa Rican coffee in Cafe Ole.

I agree with Lan, Cafe Ole is the best in San Pedro town. Basils caps are also good following a big lunch.

Or mail order some Kona from The Bad Ass Coffee Company in Hawaii!! Their Peaberry Kona at a mere $33.95USD aught to wake up ones senses, don't ya think?

I was in SP in Nov.- my second trip.
My advise is -bring your own ground coffee and find a coffee maker to borrow if there's not one at your hotel. After all the drinks- you must have good coffee- it's not one of the things you should mess with...don't risk it!! (this is from a Seattle-ite) [Linked Image]

Website for coffee www.badass-coffee.com

and again I state, I do not work for said company nor receive any kind of gain by placing this.

Rhon, if peaberry is not available the full city roast is good.

Also, we just tried the new Starbucks product called Brasil Ipanema Bourbon whole roast beans. Truely awesome with a very light hint of mocha in the finish, sof and mellow.

Now just where is my Belikin. LOL
