Is there a place in San Pedro where I can get a sign carved for my favorite watering hole here in Missouri? I seem to remember seeing something but just can't put my finger on it. Thanks for the help.

Plenty of wood carvers working under the palapas, between Mango's and Sunbreeze on the beach, in fact in front of the library, daily. They can do most any kind of carving.
Contact them when you arrive, and they will bring the wood from the mainland for your approval, before carving. Ask for James, tell him you were referred by the Mom of the girl bowl carver, he taught recently.

Thanks. Is James the same fellow whose name I cannot recall that has carvings and works a lot on the bench at the SP airport? Or if not, what is that fellow's name? He is a rather large guy.

Best wood carver In San Pedro is Anthony Austin (aka RIP)
You can find his table set up by the dock between Sunbreeze Hotel and BC's

Tell him Sherry sent you and you'll get a fair deal.

Sfrost, the locations had changed earlier this year. The only one between Sunbreeze and BC's was a picture frame guy.
The James I mentioned is a tall thin guy.
Seems to be a new pecking order on securing locations these days, for the wood carvers.
Three palapa picnic tables behind the library is office for them now. somehow in the past I thought those tables were for locals and tourist use.......guess I am wrong again. They are under the Honorable Patty's window, wonder why?

Depending upon how big and fancy you're talkin', you may wanna consider Graniel's Construction & Cabinet Ltd. (I don't pretend to know anything about the company itself except for the following...)

Through the hardware store, we bought the most beautiful mahogany round table top (maybe 3' diameter). Has a palm tree, toucan and taiper all carved in beautiful detail. (It's gotta weigh 50 pounds.)

During a golf cart day, we tooled out to the carvers mill and met the artists. (They're smack dap in the middle of the neighborhood SW of Ramon's. Over by--Martha's--is it called?) They were SO flattered. Offered up some Fanta and told us all about their work. (We all had to use some really bad Spanglish, but had a great time!)

Kept the biz card as we've been trying to think of just the "right" sign to have carved for our pool deck. I don't know if the carvers also work independently, but the info on Graniel's is:
