Hi Group! My husband and child would like to take a trip to the Blue Hole in April. My son and I would like to snorkel while my husband dives. Who would you suggest we go with for this all day outing?

AMIGO DEL MARS, they are the BEST. they are professional, great dive guides, and FUN. I suggest them for the blue hole and ALL diving and snorkeling. I have been with them several times.

Second that.
How old is your child though? It's a long trip and conditions aren't always that much fun.

Dear Ke, Thank you so much for the info. Dear Seahell, My son is a very mature 11 year old who wants to be a Marine Biologist someday and always gets an A in science. What do you think? I think he will like the trip unless it is really rough seas. He has been known to get sea sick. THANKS

Dear Island Mom,
Your son will LOVE it, LOVE it. The seas are not real rough to me, but everyone is different. What month are you going in? I really recommend diving AND snorkeling with Amigos. If you are going when it is not busy, ask for ANDY AND FELIPE! THEY ARE AMAZING!!! You will really appreciate snorkeling or diving with these guys. Have a great time!- tell them Keli from Las Vegas sent you!

Island Mom, in that case, I think it will be fine. If he does get seasick sometimes, just be prepared for that. Give him some gingersnaps or something like that before you go if it looks rough. Ginger is supposed to be good at thwarting motion sickness. Or you could try those wristbands. I have a couple of friends that swear by them.

Ok wadding into deep blue hole here. I think you should snorkel with your son at Hol Chan and Shark Ray first, to see how he reacts, before booking the Blue Hole. Long expensive boat ride to snorkel, IMHO. Maybe best to save the Blue Hole for when he is older.
The vastness of water can overwhelm one, even experienced swimmers.

Really good advice from everyone. I will remember to bring ginger snaps on the boat. I wonder where I can get one of those wrist bands! Thanks everyone. D.

You should be able to get them at a luggage store, or even a luggage department in a larger store.
