Hello Belize: My wife and I and our 5 year old son were planning our vacation in Belize for November 11 - 20th.
Here is our profile:
Husband (H) (47 years old - fit) lawyer who is also a dive instructor/cave diver/deep diver/who has worked in over 19 countries teaching diving, over 3,000 dives and is seeking some adventurous dives. Loves night diving, drift diving and also wants to experience the classic dives of Belize which is of course intermediate but wants a few advanced/challenging dives.
Wife (W) (39 years old - fit) Does NOT dive!. She loves the ocean, snorkeling and suntanning on the beach, but LOVES TO SHOP!!! LOVES THE LOCAL SHOPS AND QUAINT TOWNS. Loves people, the crowds, the nightclubs the excitement. Does not like the solitude of the 1 shack on the secluded island. Does not like live aboard boats.
Son (5 years old) (super fit - energizer bunny energy, never stops, whirlwind nickname: tasmanian devil) Loves the water ; can swim in a calm pool, never snorkeled yet. loves fish. 3 1/2 feet tall, runs like a olympian sprinter.
We would like to experience the jungle and rivers and caves of Belize. We cannot afford the 5 star hotel, but would love to stay the best places if we could get a great deal. We need a great pool for our son. We can hop around from hotel to hotel if need be. We thought 2-3 nights in Ambergris Caye, 1-2 nights on a dive oriented island that favors more advanced diving, maybe 1 night on a live aboard, 2-3 nights in the jungle on the mainland. We do not know where to stay, where or what dive operation to dive with, where to eat, what are the classic places to go and do.
What is the perfect itineary for 10 days? Most important is we love the sun, bright hot days, love the humidity. We don't want their to be any chance of rain or even cool weather. The hotter the better. Hot at night is even better. Rain or cool weather ok in the jungle, but not in the ocean or on the beach. If November is not the best time we will scratch Belize for now and go later.
Thanks for any help. Dave
