This school year the business department of San Pedro High School took a different approach towards the students’ learning process by organizing the first mini business fair. The purpose of the fair was to showcase products and business plans that the students had developed, researched, marketed and executed as business students. The objective of the fair was to enhance the students’ knowledge of the business world, especially for the seniors who are close to graduation and may become young entrepreneurs.

Third and fourth form business majors from San Pedro High School (SPHS) held a Business Fair on Saturday at the SPHS Auditorium to showcase what they’ve learned during the year of business courses under the tutelage of Mr. Josue Sosa. 17 groups came together to show projects that included beauty products, smoothie stands, hotels, discotheques and more. Students had to take what they had learned throughout the year and create a business plan, then execute the plan, creating a product that was as local as possible.

SPHS Students Excel in Business Fair

This school year the business department of San Pedro High School took a different approach towards the students' learning process by organizing the first mini business fair. The purpose of the fair was to showcase products and business plans that the students had developed, researched, marketed and executed as business students. The objective of the fair was to enhance the students' knowledge of the business world, especially for the seniors who are close to graduation and may become young entrepreneurs.

It all started on Thursday, April 29, when an Open Day was held at San Pedro High School when the students were evaluated on their business projects. The public was invited to the mini business fair that was held on Saturday, May 1, at the Rafael Angel Nuez Auditorium where all the business students' projects were on display and some of the products on sale as well.

Products on display included Island Delight dipping sauce, Picason Pepper Sauce, Enchanted Beauty products, lip gloss, candles,Yellitos slush/raspado and businesses such as photo studio services, movie theatre, water park and night club.

The Business Department heads of SPHS say that the fair will also act as a motivational factor for all the second form students to decide on which career path they would want to pursue in the future.

Ambergris Today congratulates all the teachers and students who put on a highly educational and very interesting program.
