San Pedro Lions Have Matching $2,500 Donor

Baldemar Graniel, Chairman, Lions Zone 59, San Pedro Town Ambergris Caye, Belize, C. A.

August 25, 2010

For Immediate release
On August 18th Belize Lions Zone 59 Chairman Baldemar Graniel released a letter to the media. In the letter Graniel wrote, "Here I am again, asking for help. As you all may know the Belize Lions
Zone 59 funds were drained off by the then Secretary Treasurer[Kainie Manuel] leaving just under one hundred dollars out of over $13,000BZ. This case is in court but the Zone needs to continue its
work for which we need funds. Someone has offered to match up to $5,000 dollars if we can get that amount from donations from the public. I am asking for your help to achieve this goal..." Graniel
went on to add that $3,100 of that amount was to be sent to a dialysis patient in New York, USA.

The anonymous donor was under the impression that these funds were depleted from the San Pedro Lions Club account and had posted the pledge to specifically help the San Pedro Club. Once it
was clarified that the theft had depleted the countywide Belize Zone 59 Lions bank account the donor decided to offer a financial match up to $2,500 instead. Now the Lions countrywide can work to match this generous offer, and as of the first posting of Mr. Graniels letter last week four individuals have come forward with donations. For every dollar raised the donor will match it up to $2,500., ultimately giving the Belize Zone 59 a much needed $5,000.

Anyone willing to donate can make the check out to Belize Lions Zone 59 or you can make a deposit to Atlantic bank checking account # 100197555. For more information please contact Mr.
Graniel at [email protected] or call 610-2489. Donations in any amount are greatly appreciated and remember, you can double your money when making a contribution while this matching offer stands.
