Good morning!

We'll be in San Pedro for our honeymoon in late September, and understand that it's slow season and many restaurants/bars/etc will be closed. Who usually stays open? I'm a vegetarian (my fiance is not!) so I like to have an idea of where I'll have options, and where the menu is better-suited for omnivores.

We're interested in more casual/less expensive places rather than fancy restaurants, since we'll be spending the first half of our trip at an inn in the Mountain Pine Ridge which looks to have delicious, but heavy, food. We'll probably cook several of our dinners up at Cocotal, but would like to grab lunch while out and about, and probably a couple breakfasts and dinners in town.

I'd love some suggestions both in San Pedro Town and up north toward Cocotal. I really hope the Palapa Bar stays open. Thanks, everyone!

My choice is Estel's. Great breakfast and equally great view. Open from 6 am every day apart from Tuesday. http://www.abelizehomeforus.wordpress.com

I've heard great things about Estel's, but I think I read that they closed for September last year. Can anyone confirm or deny? Thanks!

It changes. Depends when people decide to take their holidays so nothing is set in stone this far out. Just about every business on the Caye is a family run operation and decisions like this happen on the fly so what happened last year isn't certain this. Look into what sounds good now and if they're open when here great and if not you'll have alternatives.

My first trip to AC was in September. Yes, plenty is closed, but plenty is open and you'll enjoy it just fine if you go in with the intent to be adventurous and flexible.

That's good to hear. Yes, we're very flexible, especially since we tend to do anything "scheduled" (ie diving) in the morning, and then leave the later parts of our days open for exploring.
