We read in the San Pedro Sun there had been some "clinically" diagnosed cases of Dengue Fever in Ambergris Caye, although these cases hadn't been confirmed by lab tests. We will be traveling to A.C. in July, should we be concerned?
We will be staying at Coral Bay Villas. If anyone has information about these Villas, we would appreciate hearing about your experience. Thanks a lot!

I wouldn't worry about Dengue if you are staying on the island. It is transmitted by mosquitos, and there are very few in San Pedro. However, if you are planning on going into the jungle, or very north or south on the island, do take mosquito repellent and dress appropriately. I have had Dengue and it is NOT fun, but in the scheme of things it is not something over which to cancel a trip.
