I have been reading this board for an hour now and realize this is just where I need to be focusing ALL my questions. Eveyone has so much information to share. I will be in AC in one week. The countdown is on. I was wondering if anyone has an opinion on Coconuts?

June you have arrived at the right place to get all your questions answered. I viewed this board for months before my trip in June.
I kept notes, and checked out all the suggestions, and found them to true and honest opinions. It made my trip fun to check out all the suggestions. Where ever you stay, will probably be great, just pick a place in your budget, and the location that suits you best. All the people are nice friendly and very helpful. Enjoy

I have not stayed at Coconuts, but have watched this board for along time, it seems every hotel/resort is great. I am sure it will suit your needs. In my opinion one picks a place by the price and location.

June, I have stayed at Coconuts several times over the past few years and can say that it was always a good choice. You can't beat the manager, David and his great staff for their friendly and professional service and help.

A tasty and generous home-cooked continental breakfast is included in the room rate, as is the use of bicycles every day.

The location is perfect, as it is close to lots of restaurants and beach bars, one of which is Coconuts own beach bar where I met and enjoyed the company of guests, passers-by, and local business people every day and evening. It's manned by Margie and Ada who are a delight to talk with anytime.

The rooms are large, nicely decorated, and bright with air-conditioning. They are super cleaned by a well-trained staff.

In short, it's a fun place to stay and you'll meet many new friends there. If you have any other concerns, write to me direct at <A href=mailto:[email protected]>[email protected]</A> and I'll do what I can to answer your questions.

**Jim

Ditto on Coconuts. We have stayed there twice over the years and found it to me very friendly, well maintained and comfortable.

Only drawback might be that !@&%$#@^% barge landing that is just to the south. Watching the activity however can provide a sort of perverse pleasure because something really funny always happens. The 14 boat loaded with 30 100# bags of cement provided a whole days worth.

You can probably negotiate a little on the rate if they're not not full. The Patio is a very nice resturant and only a few steps away. Use the bikes or if the budget permits rent a golf cart from Moncho's or Island Auto.

Have fun.

You are right on when it comes to the supply barge landing, CHOOCHOO.

I came to look forward to sitting at the bar and watching for something hilarious to happen. It usually did such as the front end loader ending up hanging over the ramp or some other incident. I began to look forward to the entertainment and wondered when they would start charging an entertainment tax or something for it. Some good belly laughs were had many times over.

Sandcrab and ChooChoo, thank you both so much for the uplifting account of Coconuts. You are right about David, he has been very helpful in planning this trip. Can't wait to see the "barge" entertainment. I'll let you know of my laughs when I return.

Have to agree about Coconuts. Stayed there a couple of years ago and had absolutely no problems. I guess I never hung around enough to see the barge entertainment though!
