Francis Woods - President, Rotary Club of Belize
"This year we are doing "Kyaan waak da mi plantaysh" written by Kathy Esquivel, it is a musical comedy, very funny and it includes about 14 folk songs that most people will recognize the tunes but maybe not remember the words. Our opening night is tonight, sharp at eight o'clock. Tickets are available at the Bliss and Mala's or you can call 610-2219 if you are having trouble picking tickets up and we will arrange to get it to you. I will guarantee if people come out they will thoroughly enjoy the show, we have some very talented young professionals out there, we have a lot of Rotarians doing all the work in the background dealing with tickets and things like that. I would like to encourage everybody to come out, support a worthy cause and have fun at the same time. Thursday, Friday and Saturday all shows start at eight o'clock, the gates open at seven."

The production held annually is one of Rotary's most successful fund raisers for a series of projects conducted throughout the year.

Francis Woods - President, Rotary Club of Belize
'There's about six main things we do, the most important one is Gift of Life where we get children with congenital heart disease off for surgery in the US. We also have the Support of Burnt Victims Fund where children who are severely burnt that can't be taken care of here, we organize a flight for them to come down, evacuation jet and they take them to Galveston, where they receive treatment by Shriner's in Galveston, then we have scholarship program, feeding program, we are presently doing major infrastructural improvements on the Dorothy Menzies Child care Center and two homes of the Salvation Army and then we do a home every year for a needy family as well as lots of other projects that come up."

Around twelve children per year benefit from the gift of life program each year while many more children benefit from the other programs under the Rotary Club of Belize.
