The first sailing lessons this summer for the youth of San Pedro will begin
at 10:00 AM on Monday, July 11, at Sailsports Belize, on the beach at
Caribbean Villas.

The media and all interested parties are welcome and cordially invited to
attend. Andy Milner, Commodore of the San Pedro Sailing Club, will be
available to answer your questions in informal rap sessions.

A sizeable squall rained out the 10 AM lessons yesterday; however, at 4 PM,
three undaunted students in their early teens braved threatening skies to
complete their first solo sail and the first lesson of this summer's San
Pedro Youth Summer Sailing Program. The attached pictures speak louder than
words. The students in them are Corey, Hunter, and Morgain. The boats are
Optimists. The three kids progressed very rapidly in yesterday's 1 1/2 hour
lesson. Instructors Andy Milner and Paul McCarthy report that it won't be
long before these three are ready to learn racing.

The San Pedro Youth Summer Sailing Program is put on by the San Pedro
Sailing Club and is under the auspices of the Belize Sailing Association.
