Weekly Weather Outlook for Belize
September 8-15, 2014
Summary: A deep and moist easterly airflow will prevail over the NW Caribbean during this working week. This is typical of September climatology, after the below normal rainfall conditions that prevailed across the country during the first half of the 2014 rainy season (June through August, 2014), which impacted the main corn crop that was planted later than normal. Model forecast (NOAA-GFS) is resolving an active tropical wave moving over Belize during Wednesday (see NHC 72-hr forecast map). This feature will be coupled with an upper level, diffluent ridge circulation, favorable for further widespread outbreaks of thunderstorms, especially inland over the Orange Walk, Cayo and Toledo districts.

High winds, sideways rain, thunder, lightning, quite the night on Ambergris Caye and this morning is overcast with ESE at 20 mph. The forecast of expected high seems to be stuck on 88 day after day no matter what. I wonder how accurate that is??

From Belmopan... 08:30 BZT

I had 24mm ( 1" ) rain over night. .... But looks as if the North has been getting far more than the South recently. . . ..More to come for the North, or will it miss and go into Mexico. . There is still some thunder around this morning..... There is a mixed bag over Belize at present. .. Still wet air streaming in from the NW, on top of the Caribbean wind from the SE. ..Conflicts of air often result in rain and thunder.

Looks like most of the rain over central and southern Belize is now passed, but there could be further breakouts later today, particularly in the north.

Not a lot of sun showing for most of the day.
