Just flipped on Discovery Channel and there's Jamie Awe doing a spot on Caracol. Hopefully there will be a repeat.

Actually that was a repeat. The first was on the 11th. We thought it was awful. Jamie was gorgeous and divine as always, unfortunately he should have been the presenter. To much of the show focused on the 'sensational' such as diseases you can catch in Belize and Maya sacrifice. There are so many interesting things in the archaeology and history of the Maya. It is a shame that all anyone in movies and TV want to say about Maya history is that they were savage and sacrificed people I think the fact that they were and probably remain the best mathematicians and astronomers the world has ever seen, is far more interesting and relevant.

The ancient Mayans were probably pretty brutal according to our standards, but at least they killed people one at a time and didn't drop bombs on other peoples' heads.
The show was terrible with stories about assaults, robberies and flesh eating parasites being part of every day life in Belize. Hope they do not repeat it.
A bunch of BS, and It sucked - Big time!

The show told stories of the maya at war and sacrafice and death because the show was about some dead guys BONES and they were trying to figure out what happened to him. So of course they didn't paint a rosey picture.
If the show was strictly about the Mayan way of life, yeah it would have been on the gruesome side.
The flesh eating parasite bit was a little unnecessary.
