TODAY'S FORECAST


Weather conditions will allow some cloudiness and few
showers to develop over Belize and the Caribbean.

Ambergris Caye, San Pedro and Caye Caulker will
experience for the next 24 hrs:

It will be mostly sunny today and cloudiness will
develop tonight and tomorrow morning along with
isolated showers. Temperature will reach high 80
degrees F after midday. Surface winds will blow 5 to
15 Kts from the Southeast then shift to the Northeast
tonight and tomorrow.. The sea state will be choppy.

The outlook is for continuing cloudy weather
conditions through Tuesday.

WEAKEN AND SHOULD BE BELOW GALE FORCE LATER TODAY.

STRONG SUBSIDENCE AND VERY DRY AIR CONTINUE TO
DOMINATE THE CARIBBEAN WITH PATCHY LOW CLOUDS DOTTING
THE AREA.

DEEP LAYERED MOISTURE WILL MOVE IN THE CARIBBEAN MON
WHEN THE COLD FRONT IN THE GULF CONTINUES TO MOVE S
GIVING THE W CARIBBEAN THE GREATEST CHANCE FOR SHOWERS
IN SOME TIME.



Central & Eastern Caribbean:

UPPER RIDGE EXTENDS FROM THE NW CARIBBEAN NEAR THE
CAYMAN ISLANDS INTO HE W ATLC ACROSS CENTRAL CUBA
GIVING MOST OF THE AREA EASTERLY UPPER FLOW.

Temperature will reach high 70 degrees F after midday.

CARIBBEAN.

over Belize and the Northwest Caribbean.

Ambergris Caye, San Pedro and Caye Caulker will
experience for the next 24 hrs:

It will cloudy with sunny breaks today and partly
cloudy with isolated showers tonight and tomorrow
mornong. Temperature will reach low 80 degrees F after
midday. Surface winds will blow 5 to 15 Kts from the
Northeast to East. The sea state will be light chop
with 5 to 8 foot seas beyond the reef.

The outlook is for continuing partly sunny weather
conditions through Thursday.

WINDS ARE GRADUALLY DROPPING BELOW 20 KT OVER THE NW
CARIBBEAN WITH THE EXCEPTION OF THE WINDWARD PASSAGE.

A BROAD UPPER RIDGE IS E OF THE LESSER ANTILLES GIVING
THE CARIBBEAN EASTERLY UPPER FLOW.

MODERATE/STRONG EASTERLY TRADE WINDS ARE ACROSS THE
AREA AND WILL REMAIN FOR MOST THE WEEK. STRONG
SUBSIDENCE AND VERY DRY AIR WILL CONTINUE TO DOMINATE
THE CARIBBEAN.

IN TERMS OF SEAS...NLY SWELLS OVER THE ATLANTIC WATERS
ARE AFFECTING THE WINDWARD PASSAGE TONIGHT AND EARLY
TUESDAY REACHING THE MONA AND ANEGADA PASSAGES LATE
TUE INTO EARLY WEDNESDAY. SWELLS SHOULD SUBSIDE BY
LATE WED INTO THURSDAY OVER THE CARIBBEAN.

ATLC S OF 25N GIVING THE CARIBBEAN WESTERLY UPPER
FLOW.

MODERATE/STRONG EASTERLY TRADE WINDS ARE ACROSS THE
AREA AND WILL REMAIN FOR MOST THE WEEK. STRONG
SUBSIDENCE AND VERY DRY AIR CONTINUES TO DOMINATE THE
CARIBBEAN.

NLY SWELLS OVER THE ATLANTIC WATERS SHOULD CONTINUE TO
AFFECT THE ATLANTIC PASSAGES INCLUDING THE MONA AND
ANEGADA PASSAGES. SWELLS SHOULD SUBSIDE BY THU OVER
CARIBBEAN.

THE TRADES WILL WEAKEN TOWARD THE END OF THE WEEK WHEN
THE SURFACE RIDGE OVER THE W ATLC FINALLY RETREATS
EASTWARD.

THE NORTHWESTERN CORNER OF THE AREA.


Central & Eastern Caribbean:

A BROAD TROUGH IN THE SURFACE ISOBARIC PATTERN EXTENDS
NORTHWEST FROM A 1006 MB SURFACE LOW PRESSURE CENTER
NEAR 9N73W TO 15N75W.

MIDDLE TO UPPER LEVEL DRY AIR COVERS THE ENTIRE AREA.

ACTUAL SURFACE OBSERVATIONS SOUTH OF 17N BETWEEN 70W
AND 80W HAVE BEEN REPORTING EASTERLY WIND SPEEDS OF 20
TO 25 KT. 01/1200 UTC QUIKSCAT OBSERVATIONS SHOWED 25
TO 30 KT OF WIND SOUTH OF 13N BETWEEN 75W AND 78W.

MIDDLE TO UPPER LEVEL RIDGE DOMINATES FROM NORTH
CENTRAL VENEZUELA NORTHWARD TO THE SOUTHEASTERN
DOMINICAN REPUBLIC. EXPECT A SIMILAR WEATHER PATTERN
FOR THE NEXT 24 HOURS.

PATCHES OF SCATTERED TO BROKEN LOW TO MIDDLE LEVEL
CLOUDS AND POSSIBLE SHOWERS ARE SEEN NOW NORTH OF 14N
AND EAST OF 70W...MOST NOTABLY BETWEEN 64W AND 69W.

THE TRADE WINDS WILL CONTINUE TO BRING PATCHES OF
MOISTURE WITH EMBEDDED SHOWERS FROM THE ATLANTIC OCEAN

of the Northwest Caribbean.

isolated showers occurring late afternoon and tomorrow
morning. Temperature will reach high 80 degrees F
after midday. Surface winds will blow 5 to 15 Kts from
the East. The sea state will be light chop to choppy
with 5 to 6 foot seas beyond the reef.

The outlook is for continuing cloudy skies through
Monday.

PREVAILS ELSEWHERE IN THE AREA. THIS ANTICYCLONIC FLOW
GENERALLY EXISTS SOUTH OF 20N BETWEEN 40W AND
80W...EXTENDING FROM THE CARIBBEAN SEA INTO THE
ATLANTIC OCEAN TO 40W.

MIDDLE TO UPPER LEVEL MOISTURE IS MOSTLY OVER INTERIOR
SECTIONS OF COLOMBIA...MAKING ITS WAY NORTHWARD UNDER
THE SOUTHERLY FLOW. THE MOISTURE AT THIS TIME SEEMS TO
BE CONFINED TO THE AREA SOUTH OF 14N BETWEEN 70W AND
80W.

AN ATLANTIC COLD FRONT REMAINING N OF AREA IS
WEAKENING THE SUBTROPICAL RIDGE. AS A RESULT...ELY
TRADES WILL DROP OVER ALL ZONES UNTIL LATE SUN AND
MON.

SOME INCREASE IN NLY SWELL MAY ACCOMPANY THE FRONT BUT
NO MORE THAN 8 OR 9 FT IS ANTICIPATED.
