The list of holidays for 2011 is now available. There are thirteen public and bank holidays, starting this Saturday with New Year's. There is only one holiday in March, which on Monday, the seventh celebrated as National Heroes and Benefactors Day. Easter next year falls in late April, which means that Good Friday through to Easter Monday will be from the twenty second to the twenty fifth. May opens with the Labor Day holiday on Monday, the second, and Sovereign's Day on the twenty-third. The next holiday will fall in September but there will be no extra days for Saint George's Caye Day on Saturday the tenth. Independence Day will be observed on Wednesday, September twenty first. Pan American Day will be observed on Monday, October tenth. In November, the traditional Garifuna Settlement Day celebrations will be held on the Saturday, November nineteenth, which means that there will be no extra breaks. But there will be a long weekend in December for Christmas and Boxing Days, which will be observed on the twenty sixth and twenty seventh. As we said, thirteen days in 2011.
