Caye Caulker Lobsterfest Kayak Race Announced

CALLING ALL KAYAKERS DYING TO RACE AND PROVE WHO'S THE FASTEST!

Caye Caulker's 5th Annual Lobsterfest Paddling Challenge will be held this year on Sunday, July 2nd. In a new twist on an old favorite, the race will now begin in neighboring San Pedro starting at Ramon's Village at 10:00 a.m. and will end at the Lobsterfest Palapas on Caye Caulker the same day. Total distance of the race is 12 miles.

The race is being offered as a "One person. One boat. Any paddle" race. "This race will be a nice race for the athletes who completed in the Eco-Challenge race, and for those who want to check their fitness before the Costa Maya Race." announced the flyer put out by the race committee.

The committee is offering a Free Lobsterfest T-shirt for entries received before June 28, 2006



First prize is $300 and 2nd prize is $150. Station prizes will also be offered along the way.
