Looking for Harry Dole, Scotty Hunter. I don't even know if they tried to evac from there. Has anyone received word from Caye Caulker?

Caye Caulker
General Report on Caye Caulker Information
Tuesday 9:00 P.M. EST

Got some fourth hand information via relays through different people.
Diane and maybe Tina were into Belize City to use the phones and probably
returned by now using Water Taxi. Water taxis are running. Gasoline is
hard to get that is uncontaminated.
Report the family here has got; is that Dolphin Bay Travel/Treasure
Travel Agency and their mother's house, Ilna Auxillou, totally lost it's
roof. Blew away! The inside is all spoiled from water damage. Two
computers done for. They are on the beach on Front Street of Caye Caulker.
Bak Pak Hostel, which was Wendy's house, but leased to Tina as a Hostel
on long term lease, has roof damage and needs some structural support
with posts and diagonal bracing. It is shaky!
The Condo's for Diane and Tina where they live have partial roof damage.
Wendy's trailer where she lives, no word on that.
No word on Ofelia and Laly Alamina old family aunts and their house.
But they are in their seventies and Laly is retarded. They are going to
need some outside help. Will do what we can from here, but not sure yet
of what is needed. But it doesn't look good.
Ivan Alamina their cousin who lives in Canada, his small house totally
destroyed. He says he will be going down to see what he can do.
Sharon's house no damage. She had lots of posts and the roof was
plywood covered with tarpaper and US asphalt shingles. No damage. Was
the thinnest part of the island and exposed too.

Checked with hardware stores in Belize City and Dangriga, and phoning
around, says there is a shortage of building supplies and little roofing
available to close up houses from rain. Reason for this given, was that
with the Government's PUP building spree nationwide, roofing materials
have not been able to keep up with demand and inventory is next to zero.
It is a nationwide shortage! So anybody going down to either Caye
Caulker or San Pedro, be sure and take cheap plastic tarps with grommet
holes in them from your local Home Depot. Rolls of thick plastic
probably helpful too. It looks like a month before supplies will come
in, if they do at all, and satisfy the need. Sheltering possessions is a
necessity.

Not of much interest to this list, but Miami Dade County here in
Florida is having Tornados and heavy rain squalls from the other half of
Hurricane Keith. To see them joined you need the infra red satellite
picture. Doppler Radar shows the tornados and there are warnings
interrupting all programs on TV and radio. The water here when wading
through to Silvia's Honda was above my knees.
