For Night of Comedy and Entertainment

Tila Maria Sesto is a popular comedian from Merida. She appeals to a wide audience for her raw portrayal of the struggles that a Yucateca woman faces in a modern society where being true to the culture is perceived as odd behavior. The show is an adult show, due to explicit language, but it is important to note that this type of language is really part of the culture.

Efforts are to ensure that food for the night will be traditional Mestizo cuisine. There will be limited VIP seats with table service from the food tent. General admission will be bleachers and will have access to both food and bar tents. Sales of the night will go towards medical fundraisers and a portion is also committed to the San Pedro Cancer Society.

Tickets are available at both the San Pedro House of Culture and Rock's Supermarket.

Comedy at its best was presented on Friday, May 1st at the Angel Nuez Auditorium, during the first ever Tila Maria Sesto Show. Many island residents came out for the comedy show presented by Proud Mestizo Promotions. The main attraction of the night, Tila Maria Sesto, is an iconic comedian from Merida, Yucatan, Mexico that shows the struggles faced by Yucateca women in modern society. Paired with cold drinks and good food, the night was a huge success.

The show started a little after 9:30PM, but the crowd arrived early to get a good seat. VIP seating with table service was available for an increased price. Those in attendance laughed the night away at Tila Maria's antics and jokes. It was an adult show with explicit language, mostly in Spanish. The aim of the show was to remind the community that Yucatec Maya is the mother culture of the Mestizo. During intermission breaks, the audience enjoyed performances by the San Pedro Dance Academy and Natalie Arceo. The dinner-style show also featured traditional dishes prepared by local cooks.
