Good News: Maya Island Air will probably start direct flights from Placencia to Roatan around February - March 2009!

That's great news!
Flying Taca - Roatan to Belize required an overnight in San Pedro Sula. Not awful... but not very convenient.

We flew Atlantic Air from Belize City to Roatan a few years ago,left in the morning got to Roatan in the afternoon, same day. $250 RT. Not sure if they are still operating????

So, the Placencia airstrip will now become an international airport? Interesting...

Savannah (Stann Creek): This station stop is in the heart of the Banana Capital. The Big creek port host customs and immigration facilities for boats coming into and out of Belize. Some may find this station convenient whether for business or pleasure, being just a few minutes across from Placencia.
