Hi you guys - How long and how many miles is it to drive from
Belize City to Placencia? Last June there was a bridge wash out. Is the bridge back up? Thanks bunches.

We had a great drive in January from Belize City to Punta Gorda. There were 2 bridges out, but the detours were fine. We didn't stop in Placencia, but the highway to the turn off was fine, easy driving.
Time from Belize City to Punta Gorda: 3 1/2 hours. Beautiful scenery, very cool Mayan villages.

bridge is up, road is fine, about 3-- 31/2 hrs.

Mu husband and I are also going, arriving the 26h and driving to Placencia for a few days and then back to AC.

When do you leave??

Actually, some friends of mine are planning a trip for April. I live in Spokane and my sister is still in Seattle. Since Spokane had 6' of snow this year I sure wish I was going right away. Have fun and when you get to Placencia ask around for Tulu and say Hi for us and tell Margie at Coconuts Bar Hi for us also.
