close to San Pedro Town or a ways out. I looked at the map and could not find it or missed it
Its almost in the middle of town.
Thanks for the information
Scubabuddy, I see you are from Austin....FYI, we are having a San Pedro Scocial Club of Texas at lake Conroe o June 7. Check it out under the genl chat ares.
Whew, haven't been on the board for almost a year, but I still read every day. Couldn't get down there this year due to racing our sailboat in Florida this winter. But, just wanted to pass along good comments on the Mayan. Stayed there last year and really, really enjoyed it. Located between Lily's and Fido's. Rooms are clean, spacious and the balconies are great! Didn't close the doors for the whole 10 days. We had the third floor corner room on the south end. It's killing me that we can't get there this year!
Thanks for the invite ImMissing. Since I am new to this chat how do I get to the general chat.
Thanks for the information on the Mayan PRincess. THis will be my first time on AC and I appreciate any information that can be given to me. I was told the place has a kitchen. Did you bring food with you to cook or did you eat out all the time. We were told to bring food in ice chests with dry ice. Not sure how that willwork or even if we can do that
There is a small kitchen with fridge (1/2 size), sink, microwave and one (or two?) electric burners. A galley like arrangement. We didn't cook in the room except for re-heating lefovers in the mw (but that counts for "cooking" right?). There were plates, utensils and glassware. It was nice to have somewhere to store breakfast items and leftovers (and Belikins!), but, really, the food is so good and so inexpensive for the most part, that it's hard not to go out.
THanks for the info. So from what you said there are no pans or pots or anything like that. And what is Belikins? Do you recommend certain places to go eat or to go look at. And do you know anything about the Chicken Drop game?
Can't really remember about pots and pans. Each unit could be a little different. Maybe call the Mayan and ask about the set-up. You can always buy a couple of cheap ones. I think the grocery store south of Ramons has lots of that stuff. Also, I'd search the site for info on the chicken drop. Never won, but it's lots of fun!
never ever stayd at a place where dishes were provided without a way to get cooked food into them
Scubabuddy, when the message board comes up scroll down to "General Chat", then find SAN PEDRO SOCIAL CLUB of TEXAS. You will find all the datails there.
I checked with a client who just got back last week. Here is what she said:
"The unit we stayed in had pots, pans, dishes, eating & cooking utensils, bowls, pitchers, coffee pot, toaster and glassware and while it was not a huge selection there was pretty much everything needed to prepare and serve meals. Next time I will bring salt & pepper and coffee with me, they sell it but only in large quantiites."
Thanks for all of the information. I guess I will be bringing some food and of course the salt and pepper, but hope to eat out and try the cuisine at the different restaurants. From the posts I understand Rasta Pasta if one of the best places. Is there a place where I can get a map of the island so I will know how to get to places without fumbling around and spending a lot of time getting lost.
Its a very small island, you will not have any problems finding you way around. By the way, don't try to walk to RASTA PASTa.....Its on Caye Caulker ! Another island about 10 miles south. Reccomened taking a boat !
Belikins is the local beer in AC.
VERY GOOD too, I might add.
