New Bank Open Doors in San Pedro - 10/01/03 11:10 PM
Caye International Bank Limited was this morning officially introduced in San Pedro Town. The Bank's Executive Vice President is Perry Gibson.
PERRY GIBSON:"The Bank is an A Class, unrestricted international bank. It is the first of its kind in San Pedro and we chose this location because this is where we have a lot of tourists and international people coming through, I think it is about 75% of the people, the international travelers that come to Belize, come through the island of San Pedro and that is the main reason of having the Bank here."
Gibson now speaks about the services offered by this bank.
PERRY GIBSON:"The traditional banking services such as loans, savings account, checking account and that sort of thing. With regards to other services we will be offering international investment opportunities and credit cards in the near future, merchant services, all of these will come on stream in the near future but initially we will be offering just the core which are loans, savings account, checking accounts, that sort of thing."
Gibson explains why unfortunately, Caye International cannot have residents of Belize bank with them.
PERRY GIBSON:"We are a international bank, the previous name was offshore, they changed it to international. We will be able to do business for Belizeans who live abroad. People who are interested in saving their money and having it here in Belize, we could do business with them but not for the general public in Belize."
