hey....

It's still a little un-clear as to if you can purchase spirits at the International Airport in Belize.... and then bring them into A.C.

I know there's a split in the airport and you can bring them back to the US, but can you bring them into A.C.?

Information is a good thing!

See, the thing with duty free is that the goods are in a duty free area where you don't pay local taxes. It would be sort of self-defeating if they allowed you to purchase goods at duty free and then bring them into the country.

When I first came here you could actually buy at the duty free and come to AC-unfortunately someone came to their senses.
Brief answer for hacker - "no". cool

Don't think there is much of a price difference between rum sold at the airport, or in San Pedro.
Yeah, at one time, for a year or two, there was a duty-free shop in the arrival area. (Only in Belize!) But with politics and all, it closed.

I've found Belizean rums in the departure duty free shops are more expensive than in stores, but it's convenient.

Why can't you get duty free at your departure airport?

Seashell: because Belize is as good as duty free, compared to the US.
