We are looking into renting a house while staying on Ambergris Caye in June. Some do not have air conditioning. We've been to Cozumel during the same time and felt we needed the A/C. Is there enough of a breeze to not need A/C on the island? How hot can it get in the house? Also is safety a concern on the island? Has anyone experienced any problems with renting a house?

I did see that there are a couple of schools on the island. Does anyone know if they are in need of supplies that could be brought from the states?

We are very excited about coming to Ambergris Caye. Any restaurant suggestions or local insights would be greatly appreciated!!

It gets very hot in June. We would suggest air-conditioning! The island is very safe, however, we suggest taking the usual precautions. Our understanding is that the schools always need the usual supplies, and they are always welcome. Have a great time!

Rendezvous Restaurant & Bar has great Thai and French cuisine. Only 4 miles north of San Pedro the ambiance is great with their own wine made on the premises.
