Corona del mar, without a doubt. Although I haven't stayed at Ramons and it looks very nice. Woody's just feels more 'local'. Great rooms, big continental breakfast every morning watching the sun come up and the free rum punch all day is wonderful! This will be my 12th trip down next week and I always split my time between Ruby's and Woody's. laugh

hey capt ron. (loved that movie)
i've stayed at ramon's twice and loved it. great location, pool and staff, along with a great beach site.
going back tomorrow morning, but staying at the palms to try something new.

Haved stayed in a beachfront room at Ramon's twice. It is a great place. Small rooms though. Didn't bother me because we weren't there much. Friendly staff, great bar, lush pool, very nice beach, good location to town and a nice pier to snorkel off of. Check out my pics if you want. Lots and lots of Ramon's shots. mobunny cool

Corona Del Mar would be my choice. Woody's a friend of ours and I can assure you that the "all day rum punch" can be very deadly.

Corona del mar get's my vote also. We were there in early May and Woody and the staff were excellent. Our room was certainly adaquate, the minifridge helped keep the drinks cold and they put a gallon of water in there every day. My wife took the first afternoon nap since I've known her (12 years) after a few of Woody's rum punches. They definately sneak up on you. Our favorite place was the hammocks at the end of the warf under the thached roof.

ditto on corona del mar....the price is definitely right....the free rum punch, and free breakfast are just a few of the ammenities offered....they don't have a pool, but if you are a guest, you can use the one at coconuts right next door....kerry

Did a week at Corona....way better for the $$. Ramons is nicer but more touristy. Woody's brew will hurt you....I never made it past midnight all week. Not the greatest hotel in the world but staff and view are 110%. Go for the extra $$ and get an oceanview. They will also stock your fridge with a case of Belikins for $30.

Both places are nice but they are not at all the same, it is like comparing apples to oranges. It really depends on what appeals to you. Look at both after you get there and you will see what I mean.

I'll have to agree about the apples & oranges compar. Both are great all depends how much you want to pay for a room and how close to town you want to be. We have our own place at Playador/E.C.B.R. and love the walk to town via beach, sometimes go several times a day. Have to spend time at BC's. Woody is great and alot of fun to talk to & or play cards, he loves to do both.
