Do the ferry's to CC and AC provide beer for sale or is it OK to bring your own for the trip? 19 sleeps
The little vending stalls in the Marine Terminal in Belize City have beer for sale.
FYI - we carried our Belikins on the ferry from BC to AC and they said "no!" (but they let us finish them
)
Discretion is probably the key.
Can you drink alcohol on public transportation in your home town?
The ferry from Playa del Carmen to Cozumel serves beer. Thus the reason I asked.
Maybe someone has a pic for you, it is not as large as the ferry from pdc to cozumel. it is a boat rather than a "ferry"
I think you may have an erroneous view of what the 'ferry' actually is. It is an open water taxi where you sit in the cockpit with between 10 and 20 or more people. If it's busy with tourists rather than local comuters, there could be some luggage on the floor since it may not all fit in the hold. It can be a very bumpy ride and you should be prepared to get wet.
There's a picture here of the water taxi heading out of Belize City -

OK, OK. I only referenced the PDC ferry in response to Jesse's snippy retort concerning drinking on public transportation.
I drink on the T in Boston all the time.
I'm sure that jesse knows the tourist's motto "ARRIVE BUZZED"
up until recently you could drink on public transportation here in texas. just ask our good president!!!
Try to drink from a glass bottle on the water taxi from Belize City and you may knock your teeth out. You'll also be the only people imbibing.
Just a few up on you we only have 10 sleeps left and we shall be there..

XIIthMan: You would do well to be sensitive to the feelings of the Belizean people that you are traveling with. They don't drink on the watertaxis and many will be offended by a tourist who does. When in Rome...
aren't the airlines a form of public transportation??
Yes and in Belize they don't allow drinks...
no - they're private enterprises, actually.
Serving the public...just like the watertaxis.
true, but not managed by a quasi-governmental body
It was just a flippin' question, Gosh! I am not the ugly American when I travel. I simply inquired if one could drink on the transport, which is a private enterprise, not public transportation per se. Many private transports in the U.S. and Mexico allow or provide beers. You seem a bit uptight for someone living in a laidback paradise.
...I wouldn't feed the keyboard kingdom
Go, enjoy and forget what's setting behind these screens.
You'll have a great time
XIIthMan, I don't think it's about you anymore. Let them hash is out. Plus, this is good info. for the rest of us.
X11thMan,
NY & TQ are right. not sure what the attitudes were all about, but you had a legitimate question, which could have been answered with a simple yes or no, and had nothing to do with 'when in rome' or being disrespectful.
i've had beer on the ferry from antiqua to anquilla, beer at the san juan airport gate waiting area, rode the tube in london with a drink in hand, and you can drink anywhere in louisiana.
i'd take this as a definite no answer.
btw,you will find the people of san pedro very, very friendly.
