New Peace Corps to Arrive - PCV Brian Lang Leaving
Peace Corps Belize has indicated that they plan to send 2 new Volunteers to San Pedro to work with the Chamber. This is great news since the Chamber was not assigned new volunteers when Rick and Steph left.
Brian Lang, who began working for the Chamber in October of 2005, finished his term with Peace Corps and left the island Friday July 7. Before heading home to San Francisco, Brian will travel through Mexico, then visit family in N. Carolina and Alaska. Among Brian's many accomplishments here on La Isla Bonita were the construction of dorms and furniture at Bacalar Chico, assisting the Safety Committee to set up the intern program and helping set up the Arts and Music in Schools program. He also played a mean drum set at BC's Sunday BBQ! Jan Brown thanked Brian on behalf of the Chamber and wished him the best of luck.
