Island Academy is just south of Ramon's between Coconut Drive and the sea, and is easily recognised by its long white wicket fences. Opposite it is Fairdale Plaze, a small newly built shopping center, and just to the south of that is a road that leads inland at right angles to the sea. A few yards along that road there is a turning to the right, and a few yards up that turning is the SAGA clinic. You can see the back of the building from Coconet Drive.

The dog pound, which so badly needs rebuilding, is on the next N-S road over from the one the clinic is on, and up at the other end nearer to the supermarket. It backs onto the air strip.

It's a very quiet time of the year and the island will be quite quiet, but that only makes it easier for locals to make it along on the day. Let's make it the high point of the weekend!

There are advance tickets for the BBQ available from Sharon at Banyan Bay. The growl on the street is that this is going to be a wonderful day. Yesterday I marched in the Parade and will be writing all about it on my blog. I just wanted to remind you all that the SAGA Open Day is going to be huge, enormous and very very large. There is a silent auction on the day and some of the prizes are fantabulous. Come along, win an auction, eat BBQ ....oh yeah...and I forgot....those music guys...Dennis Wolfe and his human friends will be arriving at noon to entertain the masses. So get on your barefoot boogie shoes and join me for a fun day out..If you are really lucky you might be able to adopt a great pet like me (well not completely like me because I am very unique and special being a canine nurse and all)

What a day for dogs, cats and humans. There was tons of yummy BBQ but far too little of it was shared with canines - greedy humans. Dennis Wolfe - he is related to us canines with a name like Wolfe - and his musical band rocked the afternoon at SAGA. A big doggy shout out to the community of San Pedro who all rallied round to make this day a huge success. An even bigger doggy thanks goes out the many businesses who shared their piece of the biscuit to raise lots of money for dogs and cats. Wags, woofs and winks, Nurse Melly
