San Pedro Lions go back to October 25 1975, and this past weekend they celebrated 34 years of service to La Isla Bonita. Welcoming fellow Lions and Lion friends was Zone 59 Queen, Alexis Guerrero. President Melanie Paz thanked all members for their endless support and willingness to help the community and urged them to continue the great job. Master of Ceremonies, Eiden Salazar Jr. brought everyone's attention to a program of 34 years ago, which was given to the lions by past Lion George Kumul.
A Lions Club can only grow through the initiation of new members. New members bring new blood, new ideas, new energy and vision into a club. Zone 59 Chairman, Baldemar Graniel gave a special welcome to the 12 new members who are: Roger Musbach, Bonnie Musbach, Daniel Nuez, Manuel Leiva, Ines Anderson, Everett Anderson, Dana Palma, Franco Palma, Jonathan Mullen, Rigoberto Kumul, Fatima Graniel and Jan Brown.
Zone 59 Queen Alexis Guerrero presented each new member with a pin and certificates welcoming them to the Lion family. The traditional three roars of welcome was given and then the congratulatory greetings.
A plaque of Lifetime Service was given to Felipe Paz (+) which was received by his wife Mrs. Bina Paz. Certificates of Appreciation were given to Lion Beto Marin and Caribbean Depot and a Plaque for being an Honorary Member was given to Ali Kisling, of the Belmopan Lions Club. Lion Ali has not missed a single event in the world of Lions held by the San Pedro Lions Club, thus the reason for this honor.
After the Vote Thanks, given by Marina Kay, food and drinks were served and a dance followed with Rompe Raja.
The San Pedro Lions Club would like to take this opportunity to thank Marina Kay, Charo Perez, Rompe Raja for special services rendered, and everyone who attended this year's anniversary.
Coming in December, Friday Night Bingo. Everyone is invited for this social evening at the Lions Den, especially children and teenagers.
