Denton Haylock

Allegations of police brutality are as old as the department. Today a man who says he was born and raised in San Pedro, claims that while he was in police lockdown between last Thursday evening and Friday morning, he was repeatedly brutalized by a police officer in the presence of other officers who did not intervene. To add insult to injury, twenty one year old Denton Haylock says he wants the officer to pay for his mounting medical bills and for the period he will not be able to work. We met Haylock in the cargo section at Maya Island Air in Belize City as he was heading to get medical treatment.
