I have read a number of post that have said the general accepted dress code is shorts, shirts and sandles - which is fine for me.
While looking at these web pages they seem very nice and I'm wondering if this tpe of attire is acceptable here also?
In general are reservations needed at most of the restaraunts or can you just "drop in" and be OK?
And as a totaly unrealated question - Do the various Hotels usually provide beech towels or should we plan to bring our own?
Thanks for the help - love this board; I've got to meet some of you people sometime, if everyone is as great in person as they seem to be here it would be a wonderful experience.
You will need reservations at Capricorn, no real dress code, shorts sandles and shirt are fine, the food is great!!
Byron,
It certainly is amazing all the help you do get on this board isn't? But be careful, these people are addicting (but by all means fun!). My husband and I will be taking our first trip in March, when is your lucky time?
Keep an eye out, because before you can blink you will have all the info you need. Enjoy!!
Sunkissed,
We will be on AC from January 27 through February 10th.
I know that you should never wish time away, but we are so looking forward to this trip that the next I almost wish I could make the next 4 months just go away.
Over the years we have found ( that translates into the older we get !) that we really need a long break from the Maine winters. As much as we like Maine, the end of January can be a dismal time - a couple of weeks in a warm and friendly place can recharge the battery and help you make it through the rest of the winter!
One of the problems that I've found with this board is that once I log on its a had place to get away from and do other things that need to be done! Oh well, I'm sure there are many excuses I can use to stay on the board for a longer time! ---
Shorts and no shoes are fine no matter how nice the establishment!
drop ins are fine for most places, but for Mambo or Capricorn I'd let them know you are coming ahead of time, get a reservation just to be sure.
Most hotels prefer you bring your own beach towels, and leave the hotel towels in the rooms. I'm sure they wouldn't throw a fit if someone took a towel to the beach, but inside they would be thinking "wish they brought ther own towels".
Sunbreeze, gives you a beach towel when you check in, and you trade it in at the front desk as often as you need a dry/clean one. If you lose it you do have to pay for towel.
Possibly other Hotels do the same, email and ask your Hotel.
