What horsepower Yamaha engines do you see around the island? I'm a Yamaha dealer and was thinking about bringing some parts down to trade: carburetor kits, water pump kits, filters, etc.

Lots of 85s but be aware that these come into Belize through Guatemala and are different from those imported into the US

Thanks for the heads up.

Marelco in Belize City is the Yamaha distributor in Belize.

Saw lots of twin 200s on the snorkeling, diving, and tour boats. Marelco must do well! All I saw was Yamahas.

Bring Whale Tails! Best outboard accessory for San Pedro waters. Can't find any more, just dolphin tails which fit above the prop and don't work the same.

Most motors here were made in Japan and parts numbers don't correspond, nobody here or in the US seems to have conversion tables; I had to guess on a fuel filter for my 15 4-stroke...

Sandbender - what year is your motor? One way to tell is to look at the serial number near the transom bracket - the last letter corresponds to a year: example F15MSHA is a 2002, MSHB is a 2003, etc.
