On Ambergris Caye this morning a cool 10 mph wind from the North has shifted to NNW bringing an overcast sky. The expected high is 82.
From Belmopan...
This morning looks rather like yesterday and the last few days, but actually it is very different. . ... .That bank or line of Easterly Caribbean wind and cloud has swept right over Belize and even as far as Merida. . ... .But it has been breaking up in parts as it crossed over us. . .. .There is one of those ITCZ type swell-ups, not that far from Northern Belize. ..The rise up to great heights, then get caught by the fast Easterly Pacific high level winds, so their tops are streaming back over the Caribbean, probably causing significant or heavy rain.. . . .The net result, they do not appear to be moving much in any direction, but this mornings one is much nearer to Belize than the others.
It looks as if we will have bands of cloud and sun moving over Belize today from the East, and there is the possibility of some rain later.
From Belmopan...
We have an extraordinary weather pattern around us right now. . . .Looks like an open air Hurricane. But don't worry, it is not a Hurricane and does not have high winds for us and so far. no rain.
But look at it and how the air is rotating round us, which is a Low pressure centre indicator.
10pm.... Cloud thinning as that strange circulating weather moves northwards, away from Belize. Thinning mainly in the south, but moving northwards as the SW night "Tiger" wind starts to take over.
