I am going to be in San Pedro for Apr 23- 30 and would like to do some fly fishing and feedback would be good. Guide recommendations. I am also very interested in some self serve fishing as I have all my own equipment. Are there places where you can go with out a guide and just wade out yourself. Does anyone know of a possible boat rentals.

I just had a client come back who is an avid fisherman. He highly recommended Manuel Azuerta for a guide. 226-2709. He also said Manuel showed him some great spots for "self serve" fishing and he caugh lots of permit, bonefish and tarpon. (I am not sure if these are fly fishing fish or regular fishing fish but I'm sure you will know!) There are lots of great guides on the island. My client said I can refer people to him if you have specific questions (email me for his contact info) Also, try a search on this board for "fishing" and you will find LOTS of info.

Manuel Azueta is a good guide. He does both fly and spin casting.
Vince Dawson is another good fly fishing guide. I think he works out of Ruby's Hotel.
