ALWAYS one to follow instructions - I'm starting a new post for auction questions and to deal with the challengers . . .

If I were to bid, oh say $20 grand, on a chair in the paypal bid (are ya listening klc :p ) and the highest bid at the live auction was $15K, is my whole $20K gone, or do the bids move up in increments?

Law,I have been to a few and silent and in my experiance a bid is a bid. If the one in front of you bids $1,000.00 & you bid $5,000.00 the bid goes on.

NO, if you are the highest bidder, you win and if you are the next highest bidder your deposit will be refunded to you. Good question!
Does any1 know where gene lopez, sandwich and screw is living? JK! laugh

Pictures of the chairs (thanks klc!)

E, if Someone bids$i,000.00 and another $5,000.00 Does the bid go to $3,000.00 or $6,000.00
Posted By: Ernie B Re: questions or comments on another post - 02/22/06 03:09 AM
6.00
Posted By: Anonymous Re: questions or comments on another post - 02/22/06 03:12 AM
no - you guys aren't gettin it - my question is if bids are going up in hundred dollar increments and the highest live bid is $500 and the highest paypal bid is $2000 does the chair go for $600 to the paypal bid or does it go for $2000?
Get it?
Posted By: deacon+ Re: questions or comments on another post - 02/22/06 03:14 AM
From what I get from E $2,000.00
Posted By: Ernie B Re: questions or comments on another post - 02/22/06 03:14 AM
$2,000 SOLD ! The high bid WINS. Got it?
Whoa... really? I'm with Law... Shouldn't it be highest bidder? I think the $2,000 is the max bet, not necessarily the amount the person wants to bid... hmmmmmmmmmm
Posted By: Anonymous Re: questions or comments on another post - 02/22/06 03:16 AM
yeah - I got it alright - just seems to me that puts those who can't be there at a distinct disadvantage! I was thinkin' about something more like the way ebay works
but hey big guy - you make the rules - I'm just playin along wink laugh
Ya, like ebay! There ya go!

no one said the bids were going up in $100 increments, if the final live bid is $500 and the highest "silent" bid is $1,000 the "highest" bid, $1,000, wins. The silent bidder does not have the option to 'raise' his bid. He is in for the end result. On the other hand, the live bidder has the option to increase his edge if he/she wishes. Thats the best I can do.

Got it! wink

E - now I'm confused.

I was under the impression that once the live bidding was done on Item A, the the remote bids on item A were opened. Higher of the two wins. No additoanl bidding alloed. At least thats what youre posting says:

"Live bidding will begin at 4:30 PM CST, on Sunday 3-12-06 at B.C.s. Bids will be made in Belize dollars and payment will be either Bze$$ or U.S.$$. Minimum opening bid will be $100.00 Bze. At the conclusion of the LIVE bidding on each item, the SILENT Bids will be opened and no further bids will be accepted. The highest bid between the LIVE BID and the SILENT BID, will be declared the WINNING BID."

So, no one live blind or dead bidder gets any more chances, right?

RIGHT ! What are youse guys smokin'
Posted By: klcman Re: questions or comments on another post - 02/22/06 03:43 AM
well, right above you said the live bidder got another chance.......thats why confused.
Posted By: Ernie B Re: questions or comments on another post - 02/22/06 03:45 AM
I said after the FINAL live bid was received, the SILENT bids would be opened and no further bids would be accepted.
Posted By: klcman Re: questions or comments on another post - 02/22/06 03:47 AM
not to diagree ( and I'm happy with the rules posted on other thread, but ...

"On the other hand, the live bidder has the option to increase his edge if he/she wishes. Thats the best I can do." posted 10:21PM immissing
Posted By: Ernie B Re: questions or comments on another post - 02/22/06 03:50 AM
UNTIL THE "FINAL LIVE BID" HAS BEEN RECEIVED! Then the bidding is closed.
