TODAY'S FORECAST


Marginally stable weather conditions and easterly
winds over Belize.

Ambergris Caye, San Pedro and Caye Caulker will
experience for the next 24 hrs:

It will be sunny with cloudy periods today and fair
with cloudy spells tonight. Isolated showers will
develop during the afternoon and early morning
periods. Temperature will reach mid 80 degrees F after
midday. Surface winds will be 10 to 20 Kts from the
East to Northeast but light and variable early in the
morning. The sea state will be choppy.

The outlook is for continuing fair weather conditions.

Western Caribbean & Yucatan:

AT THE MIDDLE AND UPPER LEVELS AN ANTICYCLONIC
CIRCULATION IS CENTERED OVER THE SOUTHERN YUCATAN
PENINSULA WITH BROAD RIDGING ACROSS THE ENTIRE GULF
AND FAR W ATLANTIC.

THE ANTICYCLONIC CIRCULATION MENTIONED ABOVE ALSO
COVERS ROUGHLY THE WESTERN HALF OF THE CARIBBEAN.

WATER VAPOR SHOWS STRONG SUBSIDENCE OVER THE GULF AND
CONTINUING TO THE S ACROSS CENTRAL AMERICA AND THE
EASTERN PACIFIC.

EASTERLY WINDS AT THE SURFACE ARE IN THE 25 TO 35 KNOT
RANGE AND EXPECTED TO INCREASE TO MINIMAL GALE FORCE
IN 30 HOURS.

GALE FORCE WINDS EXPECTED IN THE SW CARIBBEAN FROM 10N
TO 14N BETWEEN 73W AND 78W FOR TONIGHT THROUGH THU.

Central & Eastern Caribbean:

FURTHER TO THE E A BROAD MIDDLE/UPPER LEVEL TROUGH
COVERS THE EASTERN HALF OF THE AREA WITH A JET CUTTING
ACROSS THE FAR SE PART.
STRONG SUBSIDENCE ALSO DOMINATES THE CARIBBEAN WITH
ONLY SCATTERED LOW CLOUDS ACROSS MUCH OF THE AREA.

BRISK TRADES CONTINUE THROUGH THE PERIOD.

HOURS.

WITH THE DRY AIR IN PLACE...ONLY SCATTERED LOW CLOUDS
ARE OBSERVED. TROPICAL MOISTURE WILL BEGIN TO MOVE
INTO THE AREA LATE MON/TUE MORNING
AND MAY SUPPORT SCATTERED SHOWERS OVER THE NEXT FEW
DAYS.


Central & Eastern Caribbean:

THE AREA IS UNDER A STRONG UPPER LEVEL TROUGH
EXTENDING FROM THE W/CENTRAL ATLC.

STRONG SUBSIDENCE AND VERY DRY UPPER AIR DOMINATE THE
AREA WITH THE DRIEST AIR OCCURRING BETWEEN COLOMBIA
AND NICARAGUA.

CARIBBEAN WINDS CONTINUE WELL ABOVE NORMAL AS 1006 MB
LOW PRESSURE CENTER OVER COLOMBIA HOLDS TOGETHER
TIGHTENING GRADIENT ACROSS THE ENTIRE BASIN. WINDS TO
GALE FORCE STRENGTH ARE EXPECTED.

A WEAK TROUGH BISECTS CARIBBEAN FROM NE LESSER
ANTILLES TO COLOMBIA.

A WEAK HIGH PRESSURE RIDGE IS NORTH OF THE AREA WHILE
A LOW PRESSURE CENTER REMAINS OVER COLOMBIA.

PATCHES OF LOW LEVEL CLOUDS WITH EMBEDDED LIGHT
SHOWERS ARE OCCURRING OVER THE SW CARIBBEAN AND
CENTRAL AMERICA.

GALE FORCE WINDS WILL CONTINUE TO AFFECT THE SW
CARIBBEAN DURING THE NEXT COUPLE OF DAYS.

A COLD FRONT WILL REACH WESTERN CUBA AND THE YUCATAN
PENINSULA SUNDAY NIGHT.



Central & Eastern Caribbean:

STRONG MIDDLE/UPPER HIGH LOCATED NEAR THE CAYMAN
ISLANDS AT MID LEVELS REMAINS IN CONTROL OF THE
WEATHER PATTERN ACROSS THE AREA. STRONG SUBSIDENCE AND
VERY DRY UPPER AIR COVERS THE ENTIRE BASIN.

THE COMBINATION OF BOTH IS KEEPING THE MODERATE/STRONG
TRADE WINDS ACROSS THE BASIN.

PATCHES OF LOW LEVEL CLOUDS WITH EMBEDDED LIGHT
SHOWERS ARE MOVING ACROSS THE LESSER ANTILLES AND THE
EASTERN CARIBBEAN.

HOWEVER...CHANGE IS STORE AS THE TRADES BEGIN TO
WEAKEN AND SHOULD BE BELOW GALE FORCE BY SUN.

NO DEEP LAYERED MOISTURE IN STORE FOR THE CARIBBEAN
UNTIL AFTER THE WEEKEND WHEN THE STRONG COLD FRONT
MOVING TOWARD THE GULF MOVES IN DURING THE FIRST PART
OF NEXT WEEK.
