Recently saw an ad for a unit in the states by Mitsubishi that is similar to what i saw last year in the cafeteria/restaurant at Goldson in BC. Sounds like what you may be searching for. Seem to recall a similar looking system in the front window of the big hardware store in San Pedro too!
Good hunting..........Richard :p

I am in a similar situation and asked for advice on the message board and got none.
You probably want to find out what is being used locally in your area. Best to check around for an electrician who can do the install and service the product. Then go with what they suggest.
I believe the TGM mini splits are from Brazil. I had trouble finding them on the internet as well, but they do use them in San Pedro.

Without a doubt David in belmopan is the best - he gives a 4 year warranty which is unheard of in Belize, and deals only with Carrier. He now has most of the contracts with the gov't.,and his service is second to none.

Without a doubt David, and his team who are based in Belmopan are the best - he gives a 4 year warranty which is unheard of in Belize, and deals only with Carrier. He now has most of the contracts with the gov't.,and his service is second to none.
Tel. no 822-1313

companys name is International Refridgeration
p.s. yes I did buy my a/cs from him and have had no problems since the day he walked through my door -the previous 3 years were nightmares where the only answer was to buy new ones.

Pedro - Does he have someone in San Pedro to service them or does he come from Belmopan? Can I get some specifics from you re size and price etc.?
I tried Bowman Electric in Belize City but got no reply. I have the name of another local guy (Lino Ancona) but I think he just does the install.

My email is down
David is more expensive than Wally but he provides the best -
Int refridg. come to the island when you call or when the machine breaks down or for when your service is due.
call him.
I bought a wall unit from Wally it lasted five months (no warranty)(1800 btu-1800bzd)
Ancona serviced it -that really should be a clue.
David reckons my wall unit which is 30 btu (cost 2400bzd fitted -I think)will last at least 15 years, and they are cheaper to run which has proved out on my electricity bills.
It is now your decision-

Thanks Pedro. Will be in town starting the 21st for about a week. We have a heavy workload planned, but I will stop in and see you. I am always looking for good advice (if you will give it) and the opportunity to learn from others experiences.

smile I also could not get anything good on TGM. I was told that Intelco has only TGM installed in their buildings. I have no idea where their buildings are either.
Pedro, I will give David a call. I have heard Carrier is a good brand but have not had any experience with them.
In my house I have York and am not too happy with the brand.
thanks everyone cool

Great timing. David stopped by tonight for a cold Belikin at the Corozal Bay Inn Beach Bar and we talked a/c's. It is now official and the new cabanas at Corozal Bay Inn will all be cooled with Carrier Air Conditioners. Split units with remote control. He will come in and service the units every 3 months for BZ$90. each. If you need emergency repair he can make it same day on the mainland or next morning for the cayes. Also has a great warranty. laugh
You can view a photo of one of the new cabanas (still under construction in photo) on my web site. Thanks to all who helped. Doug Podzun, Corozal Bay Inn www.corozalbayinn.com cool
