I thought for sure this was a rickroll.
Now we got a government for the people they could let us use VOiP to make our phone calls and save US money. Right now we got the most expensive phones in the world.
how much elbert? I'm on the fastest plan, costing me about $390 a month! i was told the one step down is just as good...if i downgrade i have to pay to change, then if it sucks i have to pay to upgrade again. i'd rather know for sure....experiences/thoughts from those that live here and have their internet through BTL, not coral cable
how fast is your $390 a month plan?
ds, i dunno...second fastest option at the time i signed up. i think there is one that is supposed to be faster, but i cost about $500 a month. the $390 also includes the modem, and my land line. i think the internet itself costs about $330? i think?
What is the latest on the internet speed packages? Is the highest greater than 512K download? At what price?
179.oobz for the 512k and next up grade is 1g at 300.bz per month.
rumor has it the 1g isn't really much faster than the 512 in reality.
Try this to test your speed.
http://www.bandwidthplace.com/Speed will vary upon time of day, proximity to other users, etc.
Did it!
430 kbps and i pay for 512. I'm also only user
up load speed 111
:-(
has any one toyed with hacked modems/firmware or running multiple line ins and combining the stream? I have friends (in ohio) that do this and get insane download speeds and uploads. Its probably illegal (the hacked stuff at least). But I wonder if you could pay for 2 lines and combine them somehow?
AC
just tested mine at home (Ohio):
Download Speed: 1513 kbps (189.1 KB/sec transfer rate)
Upload Speed: 674 kbps (84.3 KB/sec transfer rate)
Gonna miss that! lol
AC
Sort of off topic, more of a "just wanna know" -
I tested mine:
Download 2003
Upload 303
Any thoughts why the upload is soooooo slow?
The tec. guy at BTL explained to me that typically the up is half the download.
so you would have a problem.
I upgraded to the 1g service and i get.944kbps down and 418 up

I think you mean the 1 mb service.
elbert whats that package cost /month? Any bandwidth limit/cap?
I tried looking on btl's site but it was "temporarily down"
