You really need to be on island and talk to folks that have built homes here, few of them post on messageboard. We have at least 5 very good home builders here and many more that are good sometimes and lots more that are not good. One thing that seems to be agreed upon by all and set in stone is you have to be hands on. You have to be here during the whole building project. You will hear all the crazy stories of what happens when you leave town from locals here,.
